SAP BRIM : Convergent Mediation -an Introduction

 

CM is SAP partners Product developed by Digital Route
Being used for Data Mediation of Usage and Consumption 
which implies

Ø a gathering of data from Multiple sources ,

ØFiltering,

ØConverting into  formatted data of SAP

Mediation Logic or rules for SAP CM are defined in the 
Workflow Object
CM Connects to SAP CC using two Agents

Ø SAP_CC_Batch

Ø SAP_CC_ONLINE


Ø SAP CM has three types of Agents

ØCollection

ØProcessing

ØForwarding



CM Data Flow






Collection Agent: 

This area captures the Data files  from different files , Databases, Devices and Network Elements. This can be either in RealTime or in Batch 




Process Agent:


The Data Collected in Collection Agent will be processed in this Agent. This Convert or Format the data into UDR - Usage Data Conversion

Data will be validated  for Duplicates, Footprints are removed, Enriched.


Forwarding Agent:

Data processed and Converted to UDRs will be Forwarded into CC ( or CI based on the Usage and system interface)


When the Charing is in Batch mode, BART server converts 
all the incoming CDRs into Chargeable Items and  transmits 
them to the Core Server

There are three Business services for Charging and rating


Online Charging or Office Charging

Event-Based Charging or session-based Charging

Stateless Rating

SAP_CC agent will communicate with CC system
The Data from CM will be eventually updated to Chargeable
 Items in CC

From CC, Charges will get determine and will fed to CI as 
Billable Item Classes
